Kedarnath Dham: Kedarnath Yatra 2015

Overview: 2015 is one of the special year for Kedarnath shrine. After the 2013 disaster, the extra-ordinary work done by NIM near Kedarnath town has completely eliminated the desolation of life that were affected in Kedar valley in 2013. As Kedarnath temple opens on 24th April,2015. more than seven thousand(7000) pilgrims visit shrine on the very first day. Uttarakhand administration also took full cure of tourism in shrine with support of NIM (Nehru Institute of Mountaineering).

Information System was robust in valley : The district administration has done a great job in Kedarnath valley by the systematic communication of BSNL mobility service. it was easy to pilgrims to communicate with their relatives over phone call and internet while NIM helps to communicate over internet by creating Wi-Fi zone near town.

NIM Work in Shrine : Over the past 2 years of Re-development of Kedrnath shrine, Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (Uttarkashi) has done a jaw-dropping work in Kedarnath. all the credit for that good reconstruction work goes to NIM Team who has arranged shelter, food, Wi-Fi, and more for thousands of pilgrims in Kedarnath.

Helicopter Service was also in full swing: Along with hiking, approx 60% of pilgrims visit shrine in helicopter. Helicopter flights scheduled in two stage from 30th April to 9th November. in this period more than 70,000 passenger arrive in Kedarnath shrine by helicopter.
