Opening date of Rudranath Temple in 2012

One of the panch kedar temple, Rudranath temple opens on Friday 18 May,2012 for all devotees at 5:00 AM in the morning with Vadic chanting (वैदिक मंत्रोचारण ). hundred of people went with rudranth doli procession and witness for the first darshan of Rudranth temple in 2012. with that all the panch kedar temple doors open completely for 2012 summer, although the last and fifth kedar (kalpeshwar)  open for all month in the year and never closed for devotees.
Rudranath Temple situated at an altitude of above 2286 meter from sea level  and located in the mid of beatutiful grassy field land.

Kedarnath Dham Opening First Week News and Updates 2012

Kedarnath Temple Door has been open on 28 April to all devotees across the world for 6 Month only.and this year a recorded snowfall had seen in kedarnath valley. although Snowfall is continuing in all days of the first week of opening in 2012.  although every year the valley is fully covered with snow with 6 to 10 ft but this year 15 ft recorded snow falled near to kedarnath temple.
due to this heavy snowfall , first week (28 apirl to 5 May ) is really uncomfortable or not in good order rather than previous year. there was no light,water supply and fully medical facilities till the first week of opening date.

madhmaheshar temple door opening in 2012

in our last update we published opening date of tungnath temple, although this year opening date for madmaheshar temple is also decided on the same date of opening for tungnath in omkareshwar temple, Ukhimath.
opening date of madmaheshwar  temple is 29 april 2012 while the opening date for kedarnath temple is 28 April. but the doli of madmaheshar and kedarnath temple will come out from inside the omkareshwar temple on the same day that is 25 April. kedarnath doli will reach at kedarnath in the evening time of 27 april and the door will open in the morning of 28 april at 7:15 Am.
Madhmaheshwar doli will reach at Madmaheshwar temple committee rest room on 28 Apil and the door will open on 29 April in the morning at 7:15 Am.

opening date of tungnath temple in 2012

every year the opening date of Tungnath decided in omkareshwar temple;Ukhimath, in the auspicious festival, Vaishakhi or Bhaishakhi,(a festival of india) in the presence of Rawal Bheemashankar Lingam and many other local priest (Yashodharanand maithani, harsh jamloki; many more);Makkumath temple priest is also involve in this event. they all decided the date according to calcultation with Hindu Panchang (almanac).
since this year, Vaishakhi was on 13 april. hence the opening date for tungnath is decide on 13 apirl.

according to the Ukhimath temple committee, "the opening date of Tungnath Temple is 28 april 2012". and we already knows that opening date of kedarnath temple is same as date of tungnath.so this is also the best opportunity for those who are also planning to visit chopta-tungnath along with kedarnath temple.
everyday,the temple open at 6 am in the morning and close at 7Pm evening. while the daily aarti timing of tungnath temple is 6:30 evening.

kalimath temple

kalimath temple is one of the most famous temple with cultural and traditional importance in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. it is the only sidh peeth in kedarnath valley, situated in an altitude of 6000 ft in the bank of holy Saraswati river. this temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali mata. it is the legend about the temple that goddess kali mata killed devil Raktbeej here and goes underground in kalimath and that point becomes a ditch after that it is covered by the silver plate permanently and never opened except the day of navratri hence Inside the temple, it is interesting to know about that there is no statue of goddess kali mata.only that silver plate worshiped in dedication of kali maa.
Another Story- Some local people also believed second history of kalimath temple that when mata sati sacrifice her body in veneration of Daksha Prajapati. Lord Shiva very angry on that action of King Prajapati.
Shiva began start tandava with holing brunt body of mata sati and wherever the piece of brunt body of sati dropped in earth that places in known as Siddhapeeth in later. this story is also the answer of the question that "why kalimath temple called as Sidhapeeth ? "

Religious Importance - kalimath is the supposed to be the most powerful divine place in kedar valley. although the temple is less popular visited due to low awareness about this place. this place is also popular for meditation because of peaceful area. a fair festival is also celebrated on the occasion of Navratra in kalimath temple. Navratra is a another holy festival of india. it a nine day long festival in which most of women keep fast in dedication of Goddess NavDurga. in the 8Th  day of Navratra called Astami (अस्ठ्मी) in Hindu calendar and dedicated to goddess Kal-Ratri (कालरात्रि). so this day is celebrate in a mid night as a Kal Ratri Festival or kalimath fair here. the festival is also impotent because that day the silver plate where kali mata is supposed to be present is opened by temple priest and it is strongly believed that if one see the darshan (view) of Maa Kali that day his/her wish will be fulfilled by Kalimath Mata.this day the pooja performed outside the temple by the temple priest.


Traditional Importance - it is strongly believed in kedarnath valley that if one purchased any vehicle (either two or four wheeler), it is necessary to be worshiped vehicle in kalimath. after worship, the owner of vehicle put a photo of kalimath temple in the vehicle or bind a string with name of Goddess Kali Mata .   

places near to Kalimath temple - Goddess Laxmi Mata temple is also situated near kalimath temple complex (15 foot distance from temple) where wooded fire is continue  burning since three Hindu era period (३ युगों से ). A Great Conventional Sanskrit language writer kalidaas also has done meditation at that place.

Kalishila - Vrati baba (saint), a great worshiper of goddess kali mata also had done meditation worship of maa kali at kalishila place, situated 4 km away foot trek from kalimath temple. after later year vrati baba(saint) had take burial (समाधी ) at kalishila in kalishila rock. people also worshiped here after kalimath temple.

Ghoga Mata

Ghoga Mata Festival is one the beautiful festival of Uttarakhand which is celebrated by childeren groups in dedication of Goddess Ghoga Mata. the festival is a eight day long celebaration started wtih the hindu month of chaitra (चैत्र -march). this month is also well known as flower season of Uttarakhand. different types of beautiful flower blossem in uttarakhnad. a great flower festival is also celebrated in uttarakhand governer residency (Raj Bhawan).


History of Ghoga Mata   several years ago in past, when Lord Shiva's  wife "godess parvati Mata"  wanted to go her motherland village for a few days. she want to permission of lord shiva. shiva ignored her. she disappointed, in the end parvati mata went her natal village without permission of Lord shiva. lord shiva very irritated with parvati mata action. and then lord shiva transfigure himself in the form of devil and tried to stop parvati mata to go at her navel places in the way of  her village.parvati mata afraid from the form of devil of lord shiva. finally she dicided to go back without going her motherland village. in the mid way of path she's feeling vary hungry and ate snow.although it also the pregnant time of parvati and suddenly she gave birth as a Ghoga child at midway of path before the 9 month of pregnant time. 
lord shiva already well known this all story happening with parvati but even though lord shiva ask her that "hows your trip and what you do at there " suddenly she vomited all snow there which she ate in the mid-way. after-that Goddess Ghoga mata is very angry on lord shiva and stay at that same places where she born. lord shiva went to that places to remission from ghoga mata and worshiped her untill ghoga mata not happy. and it belived that this worship process of ghoga mata by lord shiva is happened eight day long. since then Ghoga mata festival is celebrated.

although this festival is celebrated in whole uttarakhand but it is celebrated as different method in different region of uttarakhand. children groups of all villages celebrated in their traditionally method
first of all some children of villages make a palanquin of wood and honored it with samll piece of saree and local flowers ( Fyoli and Burans). this palanquin is looks like a real palanquin of god/goddess. then everyday in the evening time, all children go to around the field and pluck the flowers (fyoli) and leaf in village.and take it on little wooden baskets. in the next morning the whole group of childern ready to worship of Goddess Ghoga mata in the form of palanquin. they proceed palanquin at every family door and demand for some money or Pulses, rice and vegetable. in return of these items, one of the group member who's play the role of head priest, put a Tilak(तिलक) on all family members and also put flowers in front of doors with a song which is dedicated to ghoga mata.       jai ghoga mata paiya paati pyolya phool              जय घोगा माता पैया पाती प्योली फूल 
        ghoga'n boli keeka phool                                              घोगन बोली  कीका  फूल 
      hamun boli phyolya phool                                          हमुन बोली प्योलिया फूल 

the flowers is the local flowers and known as the name of Pyoli, Burans and paiya. this process is continued for seven days. although the same process is continued in 8th day. but this day is also special for cause the last day of ghoga mata festival. all the collected money, food and vegetable offering to all village people and enjoyed whole day.
